What the Style Feels Like
You settle into postures using gravity rather than physical effort. The longer holds encourage stillness and allow you to observe physical sensations, breath patterns, as well as your psychological tendencies with patience. What to Expect in a Class at Evry
You will spend almost the entire class on your mat on the floor. Postures include seated forward bends, hip openers, and supported twists. The teacher helps you arrange blocks, bolsters, and heavy blankets to support your body completely, and practice letting go of tension in the body and the mind. You remain in each pose in silence or with soft background music. The teacher provides quiet guidance on physical alignment and breath focus throughout the hold. Teachers may offer hands-on assists to help you relax deeper into the pose and find the correct alignment.
